Welcome to StayHive. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose your information when you access or use the StayHive platform, book accommodation stays, or offer host services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three categories when you interact with our platform:

• Account Information: Full name, email address, phone number, and profile image when you register or sign in using Google.
• Transaction Details: Billing addresses and booking parameters. Note: Raw payment credentials (credit cards, mobile money PINs) are processed directly by licensed aggregators (Paystack/Moolre) and are never stored on StayHive servers.
• Geographic Coordinates: Precise location details for properties listed by hosts to plot stays on our interactive maps.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your data based on lawful bases: to fulfill contracts, comply with legal obligations, and pursue legitimate interest, including:

• Facilitating bookings, reservations, and security deposit holds.
• Enabling communication between hosts and guests regarding arrival, check-in instructions, and local services.
• Preventing fraud, confirming host verifications (via identity documents), and ensuring compliance with local laws.
• Analyzing map coordinates to calculate search results based on viewport areas.

4. Data Sharing & Payments

We share your data with third parties only as necessary to provide StayHive services:

• Between Host and Guest: Contact numbers and names are shared once a reservation request is confirmed.
• Payment Gateways: We route transactions to Paystack and Moolre. The exchange of data is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) transport encryption.
• Third-Party Listings: For affiliate properties (e.g. Kempinski, Expedia integrations), basic guest identifiers are shared with the partner provider to validate bookings.

5. Security & Retention

We store account profiles and listing data for as long as your account remains active. Encrypted backups are routinely generated. If you request account deletion, we purge all personal records within 30 days, retaining only anonymized booking financial statements for taxation audits.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Under the Ghana Data Protection Act and international GDPR rules, you possess the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we store about you.
• Rectify inaccurate records or modify your host profile.
• Object to direct marketing campaigns dispatched via our Campaign Composer.
• Withdraw cookie consent preference at any time.
